Mission & Scope

EcoSoil, a dedicated journal under the aegis of Sayans Publishers, focuses on the critical and dynamic field of soil ecology. Our mission is to disseminate cutting-edge research and insights into the complex interactions within soil ecosystems and their pivotal role in the broader environmental context. We aim to bridge scientific exploration with practical application, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge among scientists, ecologists, agronomists, and environmental professionals. EcoSoil is committed to advancing understanding and fostering sustainable practices in soil management, conservation, and rehabilitation.

Scope

  1. Soil Biodiversity: Exploring the vast array of organisms that inhabit the soil, their roles in ecosystem functioning, and the factors influencing soil biodiversity.

  2. Soil-Plant Interactions: Investigating the dynamic relationships between soil and plant life, including nutrient cycling, root architecture, and the impact of these interactions on overall ecosystem health.

  3. Soil Health and Fertility: Assessing the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soil that contribute to its ability to sustain plant life and examining strategies for enhancing soil fertility.

  4. Soil Biogeochemistry: Delving into the chemical processes and nutrient cycles within soils, including carbon sequestration, nitrogen fixation, and the transformation of minerals and organic matter.

  5. Soil Pollution and Remediation: Addressing the challenges of soil contamination, exploring methods for detecting and mitigating pollution, and evaluating remediation techniques to restore soil health.

  6. Sustainable Soil Management: Promoting sustainable practices in soil management to ensure long-term soil productivity, including conservation agriculture, organic farming, and land-use planning.

  7. Impact of Climate Change on Soil: Examining how climate change affects soil properties, processes, and its role in the global carbon cycle, as well as exploring adaptation and mitigation strategies.

  8. Soil in Urban Ecosystems: Understanding the unique characteristics and challenges of urban soils, their role in urban ecology, and strategies for managing soils in urban environments for green infrastructure, food security, and biodiversity conservation.

EcoSoil invites contributions from researchers and practitioners across disciplines such as ecology, agriculture, environmental science, and earth sciences. We welcome original research, review articles, case studies, and policy analyses that contribute to a deeper understanding of soil ecology and its critical role in our natural and managed ecosystems. Our goal is to foster a holistic understanding of soil ecosystems and promote practices that ensure the health and sustainability of this vital resource.
